Labor Day 2026: Trading Schedule

Monday, September 7

Markets close at 1:00 PM ET / 12:00 PM CT

Markets reopen at 6:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM CT

Tuesday, September 8

Normal hours resume from the Tuesday evening open.

Monday and Tuesday count as one trading day

On Rithmic, Monday's shortened session is combined with Tuesday's session and counts as a single trading day. The trade date does not roll over at the Monday close.

Your realized P&L does not reset at the Monday close. It carries forward into the evening reopen, and so do your limits.

  • Your PDLL (Personal Daily Loss Limit) and your prop firm's daily loss limit are both measured against Monday and Tuesday as one combined trading day, not as two separate sessions.

  • Profit works the same way. A PDPT (Personal Daily Profit Target) you hit during Monday's session still counts against whatever you trade on Tuesday.
